Psychological Evaluation

State of the art psychologically-based, screening methodology for  public and private safety and security personnel selection. Spartan Services Group employs a battery of tested assessments to create a complete and comprehensive evaluation of your candidate.

We then couple that to a clinical interview to complete the candidate assessment report. The tools we employ are based on a database of over 14,000 law enforcement and fire fighters.  This allows candidates to be compared to similar peers; thereby, providing pointed comparisons. Decision making is based on actual measured traits, attitudes, characteristics, and behavior that has been shown to have a higher probability of successful employment decisions.  This methodology employs similar  statistical techniques employed by insurance companies to predict many  types of risks.

In addition, this methodology yields decisional probabilities of the occurrence of  pre-selected undesirable behaviors (i.e., insubordination, excess force, procedural mistakes) and establishes an overall finding of  liability risk for each safety and security candidate. Police commanders and executives can directly employ the guidance of the Spartan  Methodology to defend selection decisions and to safeguard the  reputation and integrity of their agencies.

Pre-Employment Truth Verification

The process starts with a truth verification disclosure completed by the applicant containing 142 relevant questions which includes prior law enforcement disclosure questions. The background truth verification questionnaire can be tailored to meet the agency's hiring practices. We use a truth verification instrument proven valid for verification of background information on an applicant. The agency receives a report of all relevant admissions for your review.

Past disclosure categories include:

  • Work History and credential verifications
  • General Honesty
  • Drugs
  • Criminal History (Detected and Undetected)
  • Previous law enforcement work (use of force, evidence, sexual misconduct, domestic violence)
  • Customizable to agency policy upon request.
